Food Pantry
The Student Association Food Pantry is a vital resource on our campus funded through student fees. Our mission is to help reduce food insecurity among our student population. We offer a range of essential services, including the SNAK program, which provides emergency food assistance, food markets in partnership with Lionhearts, events to offer meals to students throughout the year, and education sessions. We are committed to creating a welcoming and supportive environment as we take steps to combat food insecurity on our campus.
Student Nutrition Assistance Kit
SNAK (Student Nutrition Assistance Kit) is a program created and operated by the SA in an effort to help reduce food insecurity issues amongst students on campus. At the Student Association, we understand and are aware of the growing issue of food insecurity among post-secondary students. We created SNAK to ensure that students in emergent need are taken care of, while offering a subsidized food option for students who wish to access healthy food at the best possible price.
*Disclaimer: SNAK’s emergency food box is to be used ONLY by students experiencing emergent food insecurity (examples of this include: increased anxiety and stress about the cost of food, eating a limited variety of foods, consistently eating the same, few, low-cost foods and feeling like you need to compromise the types of food you eat to save money). This is an emergency service and is only intended to help temporarily in the short term, until a more permanent solution is found. Therefore, uses are limited to once every 2 weeks for a 2-month period up to a maximum of 4 uses per student per year.
